It’s a wrap!  No, we’re not making movies.  That was our hands-on program for the day.  We wrapped the presents to be given to the less-fortunate school children, who will be our guests for our annual Luncheon With Santa on December 10.

Patricia Megallon instructed us that pink wrapping paper was for girls and blue was for boys, and so after lunch we all proceeded to the back tables which were already stocked with gift wrap, scissors and scotch tape.

Rio Hondo Event Center will store them for us till next week, when the jingle of bells from the hallway will announce the coming of Santa Claus.  Usually the boys and girls are too excited to eat the lunch we provide.  Several years ago we gave the children hamburgers but they went untouched.  Then we tried mini-size burgers, and they, too, were no competition for Santa.  The potato chips do get munched on, but these first graders are intent on waiting  for the jolly Christmas elf.  The rest of us are usually busy guessing who is doing the honors this year, now that Wayne Wilcox is away on his mission.

Presents for boys will be the every-popular Hot Wheels.  Girls will be getting a Barbie doll who looks as though she is part if the new Vampire trend.
