Bellflower Rotary Brings Christmas to Military Families at Camp Pendelton

On December 18, 2007, Bellflower Rotary adopted 10 military families stationed out of Camp Pendelton and provided them with a Christmas dinner and gifts. The Rotaract Clubs of District 5280's had a toy drive the prior day and these toys were distributed at the base.  The LA Quilters Guild and Sandy Thibodeaux, City of Bellflower Volunteer Coodinator, donated quilts and afghans for the families. Many of the families had members who were oversees serving our country. One family wrote:

"Thank you very much for the generous support you have recently shown to our family this Christmas season. We, as a military family, sometimes struggle during the holidays to make ends meet. Your gifts were so much appreciated and loved. My boys loved the little afghans that were made for them. With my husband currently deployed (until June), your gifts brightened our day!! Thank you again so much for your prayers and support!! - Rebecca, Cooper and Carson Castro

In the past, Bellflower Rotary sent care packages to our servicemen oversees. This year we were able to serve their families at home. We thank them for all of their service to us throughout the year.
