Rotary Club of Bellflower with Vision To Learn Giving More Kids A Chance To Learn !

We have seven Title 1 Schools in the Bellflower Unified School District that are above 87%.  Last Rotary Year we completed three of those schools with the Vision To Learn Project with 250 students in need getting glasses.  This year we are going to finish the other four schools with everyone's help.  We have already prescreened Ernie Pyle Elementary and Frank E. Woodruff Elementary Schools with Craig Williams Elementary and Thomas Jefferson Elementary prescreening coming next month.  The entire four schools will be done by the beginning of December.
Three hundred plus children will get new glasses from these four schools with press/media coming back to be on hand for the final school.  Twelve Rotarians from our club, a couple of Caring Connection Members, and some parents have and will prescreen all students that have not been screened by the State Mandated Testing.  All our screening and the State Mandated Screenings will be merged together and tested by Vision To Learn's Optometrists.  The children that need glasses or prescription updates will then chose their frames and be given those glasses in approximately two weeks in a general assembly at each school.
We will also be working with Vision To Learn to continue this project at Bellflower Middle & High Schools.
