As my term as president comes to an end, I want to say it's been an honor and a privilege to lead this incredible group of do-gooders, networking ninjas, and happy hour lovers (before and after meetings).

Leading the Rotary Club of Los Angeles has been like herding cats – if those cats were wearing business attire and constantly trying to make the world better. But I wouldn't have had it any other way!  The network of fellowship we've built is truly remarkable. I admire each of you for your dedication to service, your willingness to hang in there for hours of back to back meetings, and your wonderful applause for me onstage (with head barely poking over the podium) for an entire year.

As we continue to gather to do good in the world (and occasionally enjoy a great meal prepared by LA Firefighters), I want to express my deepest appreciation for this amazing group. You've made my job as president both rewarding and entertaining – learning to guide and support a group of volunteers who work so hard and pay for the privilege.

Thank you for the memories, taking my calls, and the chance to ring the bell at our meetings.  It's been a wild ride and I wouldn't trade it for all the Paul Harris Fellows in the world!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to recover from my year-long bout of 'presidential-itis' – I hear it's best treated with a generous dose of relaxation, zero early morning meetings, and a summer trip to Europe. Cheers to President Elect Paul Jacques- who with dedication, great ideas, and new energy will preside over my demotion and take it from here as of Friday!!
