On behalf of the LA5 Foundation Board of Directors, I am very pleased to invite you all to attend and bring guests this Friday, November 18, to our LA5 Foundation Fundraiser: The Good Sam Awards!
We are honoring the wonderful actor Jack McBrayer whose show “Hello Jack The Kindness Show” on Apple TV+ is making waves!
“Jack is one of Clover Grove's most thoughtful and caring residents, greeting everyone with kindness and humor; his ability to spread compassion, creativity and imagination inspires everyone in town to do the same.”
McBrayer is truly performing a service above self with this show.
Joining us is the author of the Good Sam series of books and the subsequent film, Dete Meserve. Also visiting is the star of that movie Tiya Sircar. Dete will lead a brief panel discussion on the subject of Early Education and The Media with the immediate past LAUSD Supervisor and founder of Vision to Learn, Austin Beutner along with a special guest TV executive who we cannot announce for security purposes.
You will also hear from a representative of the Edelman Children’s Court (LA5 was the lead and initial investor in building that court), the executive director of School on Wheels, the director of Camp Paivika (also founded by LA5) and our own Erica Rosales (married to Past President Jose Vera) who was one of our earliest scholarship recipients.
This will be the second Good Sam Award given out. Last year, at the District Gala, we presented the first one to Dete Meserve. Dete this year nominated Jack McBrayer. The sculpture was designed by our own artist, Shahla Reynolds.
Don’t miss this important meeting and please truly consider bringing guests. This is an amazing day to showcase Rotary and especially LA5.
Please note: we cannot accept late registrations or walk-ins this week, so please register now!
The deadline is Wednesday at 3 pm.
Thank you!
-Past President Erick Weiss
