Jeff Weigel also got a shirt but I'm sure  his best gift is having Karen back!

President Karen’s Swan Song: Under her leadership, Redondo Beach Rotary raised $41,550 this Rotary year with $38,700 going directly to support international and local projects. In conjunction with partners such as Rotary International, Rotary District 5280, other Rotary Clubs and Beach Cities Health District, our funds had a total impact of $236,800 in our communities locally and globally.

Karen offered her Challenges to club members:

  • Find the areas of need in our community and do the projects that will really make a difference,
  • Explore the world of Rotary  - We are 1 club in over 33,000 Rotary Clubs in the world. Attend a District 5280 event, go on a Rotary Humanitarian trip, attend a Rotary International Convention, share ideas with Rotarians around the world.

And as a special thank you, President Karen gave Rotary golf shirts to her board and all committee chairs.

District Trip to Columbia Report  PDG Chuck Anderson showed his slides of his trip to Columbia, South America. Chuck represented the Club as part of District 5280 and Rotary International efforts to help the poor. Global Grants provided school supplies, computers, wheelchairs, mentoring and kitchen equipment.  Chuck also passed out “Chuckles” candy to all members.   Yummy…Thanks Chuckles!

Raffle Tickets – Since there were only 4 marbles left and this was her last meeting as president, Karen offered bottles of wine and the balance in the raffle pot of $359 to the winner. Nancy Campbell got a bottle of wine, so did Terry Bichlmeier and James Jackman. And the winner is, drum roll please……. Herb Masi. Good luck, Sir!
