As you know we’ve been working on starting a satellite Rotary club for people who need more flexibility in their schedule but want to be a part of Rotary. At this point we are not sure exactly what this club will look like. Many of you have heard from me and my vision for this club, but this is not just for me or about me it’s about “us” and what we want. We need you and your input to mold this into what we feel is best suited for the majority.

Dear Friends,
As you know we’ve been working on starting a satellite Rotary club for people who need more flexibility in their schedule but want to be a part of Rotary. At this point we are not sure exactly what this club will look like. Many of you have heard from me and my vision for this club, but this is not just for me or about me it’s about “us” and what we want. We need you and your input to mold this into what we feel is best suited for the majority. With that said we’d like to invite you to the initial meeting to discuss membership and outline.
When: Saturday, March 1st at 10 a.m.
Where: Elgee Rehfeld Mertz, LLC Conference Room, First Floor
There are a couple things we think you should know. First, we will be full Rotarians and eligible for all the benefits that a Rotarian receives. Second, we only have to attend two meetings a month. The when and where we conduct those meetings is entirely up to us. Third, our annual dues are less than $40 (Brenda will have exact amount). Fourth, we get to pick the projects we want to take on. I’m sure there is more but this is the main points I can think of for now.
Start thinking about questions, ideas, thoughts you may have around making this a successful club. We will also need to come up with a name for our club, so consider that as well. I’ve copied some facts about Rotary from Rotary Internationals website below. Take a minute to review it as it will help you determine if this is a right fit for you. Thank you for your time and interest. we hope to see all of you at the initial meeting.

Regards,
Mindy Kissner & Brenda Hewitt

Object of Rotary

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
·         FIRST: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
·         SECOND: High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
·         THIRD: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life;
·         FOURTH: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

The Four-Way Test

The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings:
Of the things we think, say or do
1.       Is it the TRUTH?
2.       Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3.       Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4.       Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
