  • Thank you card from Emma Drake, Williamston HS past Student of Quarter read
  • The Wieners attended the Traverse City Film Festival
    • Saw many new movies
    • Recommended “Detroit”  and “Kings Choice”
  • Taste of Williamston update - Jack
    • Red Cedar Grille will probably not participate this year
    • Most others OK
    • He is trying to get another restaurant to participate
    • There will be a Taste meeting after this meeting
  • Good reviews on the current Williamston Theatre play - “Murder for Two”
    • 10 people showed interest in attending as a group, if can obtain tickets
    • Raj will check
  • August 24th - 10-noon - Pack Weekend Survival Kits
    • At Okemos Community Church - just south of Meijers on Okemos Road
    • This is in conjunction with the East Lansing and Haslett/Okemos Rotaries
    • We will be presenting a large check to Many Hands at that time
    • Please help out and wear your Rotary shirts/Badges
  • Howard as Membership Chair
    • Has made a handout with pertinent info on us
    • Useful to pass on to potential members

  • In second year as township supervisor
  • Roads:
    • Contracted with Ingham County to fix roads
    • North part of township
    • Sherwood Rd.
      • Saved about half of the trees (from original plan)
      • Federal funds for part of work
    • Mitchell Rd.
      • Slated for next year or following year
      • Want them to do patching this year
    • Branch School
      • Someone kicked the door in
        • Alarm worked and scares person away
        • Camera was there, but raccoons chewed thru cables so no photos
      • October 8 - Historical Tour, including school
        • Fred & Tom Johnson did a lot of work to fix it up
      • Looking to get it on the Michigan Historical Record
    • Summit Cemetery
      • On Historical tour too
      • Civil war vets graves there
      • Putting water lines in to water plants
    • Fireworks ordinance
      • Lots of calls last year (not so many this year)
      • Restrictions on time & days for fireworks
        • Till 10 pm on weekdays & 11 pm on weekends
        • Of course on holidays
        • Provide enforcement for police
    • New Subdivision
      • Brookshire Estates - off Rolly Rd.
      • 24 lots
      • City sewer and wells
      • $400,000-$600,000 homes
    • Parks
      • Pavilion - getting used - weddings, family gatherings, etc.
      • Bathrooms - functional
        • Solar lights - have been increased
        • Paved walkway added
      • Open house in Mid-September
      • Purchased home adjacent to park
        • House in decent shape
        • What to do with?
          • Plan to rent for two years
          • To look at all the options
      • Trails in back of park
        • Had a controlled burn
        • Now getting wildflowers and meadow birds
      • Soccer fields and baseball diamond getting lots of use
      • Q- Pave driveway at park?
        • Very expensive - possibly done in sections
