WHY: To have fun! WHO: YOU, of course and all your friends. Whether you are a seasoned shot-gunner or a curious novice, sporting clays offer something for everyone.

WHAT: You may have heard of sporting clays referred to as golf with a shotgun, and that’s a fair comparison. Like golf courses, no two sporting clays courses are alike, and terrain and background have a lot to do with how targets are presented. Sporting clays is the closest thing to actual field shooting of all shotgun sports. Rather than having clay birds thrown from standardized distances and angles as with skeet or trap, sporting clays courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits.

WHERE: Copperhead Creek Shooting Club just East of Marble Falls.

Copperhead Creek Shooting Club now has a state of the art 13 station Sporting Clay range over .4 of a mile. The entertaining range is constructed on the rim of Copper Canyon giving the competitors breath taking views of mountains and canyons east of the range. The first league was a success with fellowship developing new friendships. The course has a mixed level of difficulty on each of the clays to make an enjoyably challenge for the novice to the expert.
