WWII Veterans share their experience on the Honor Flight

It was an honor for the Marble Falls Daybreak Rotary to hear from World War II Veterans, Art Strickland and Bud Lowry, this week. The National World War II Memorial was built in Washington, D.C. in 2004. The memorial was created to pay tribute WWII veterans, many of whom do not have the means to visit the monument built in their honor.  Honor Flight is a program that assembles a group of WWII veterans in many major cities around the country and takes them on an adventure. Art and Bud spoke of their experience with the Honor Flight – in which a group of 64 veterans left from the Austin Airport and headed to Washington, D.C..  They were treated to a tour of the various historical sites and memorials around the city, including the other military memorials.
