Marble Falls Fire Chief new in town

Welcome to Marble Falls, Russell. He gave us a bit of his life and work history and an overview of the MFFD. His talk finished up with a great fire prevention tip:  the No. 1 cause of home fires is in the kitchen with something left on the stove. Because we're not tethered to the kitchen by a landline telephone, we tend to wander off to another room with the cellphone and forget what's cooking. TIP: carry a kitchen utensil with you.

 

Russell's big goal for Marble Falls is to get us an ISO Class 1 rating which will bring down insurance premiums by making us safer. The department has 12 fulltime and 10 part time firefighters along with 3 staff.
