Adoption Awareness moves forward
Co-chairs Eddie Arredondo and Barbara Warden rolled out the latest news and assignments.
The Adoption Awareness project, now comprised of two parts, continues to develop. On Tuesday, Eddie announced the Daybreakers who would staff the various chairs necessary to pull of this project. One project, the Adoption Day in November, will be an annual event including a fair-like entertain for the children, court proceedings to consummate legal adoptions, information sessions for prospective foster parents and, of course, food.
The ongoing part of the project, recruitment of foster and foster/adopt families includes speaker recruitment and training, identifying speaking engagements in Burnet and surrounding counties, and assistance to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to train foster families and get them certified.
