Daybreak Rotary Sponsors Mustang Relays

Starting in 2004 Daybreak was the name sponsor for the Marble Falls Mustang Invitational track meet. We worked the lanes and pits and furnished a BBQ lunch to the coaches and staff. For the running events we timed and picked the runners and eventually helped MFISD purchase the electronic timing system that is still in use today. Daybreakers raised funds for all of the trophies and medals with remaining funds being available to the track and field program for special items that were not in the school budget.

 

By about 2018 the school had sufficient staff and we no longer work the relays, but we remain proud of the many years supporting the program. 

 

Daybreak Rotary is not only the name sponsor of the Marble Falls Daybreak Rotary Mustang Relays, but club members also roll up their sleeves and "hit the track" (and field) to Lend a Hand to the event. The Relays, an invitational meet, is held in the spring and brings top school teams from a wide area.

 

 

 

"Daybreakers" assisted in all of the events by such as setting up the pole vault bar, marking long jumps, timing track races and most importantly, feeding the coaching and volunteer staff. Track coach and Rotarian Kyle Futrell ramroded the event and assigned his fellow Rotarians to their tasks.
