2018-2019
In 2018/2019, our Literacy Project included five schools in west Orlando; ACS OCPS (Paramore), Eccleston, Ivey Lane, Rock Lake and Washington Shores.

The actual cost for the 2017/2018 Wild Horse Tales Literacy Project by RCO was $6,022.   All of these schools have enrollments that are at least 95% minority (black and hispanic) and 98% of the students receive free lunches.  All schools are Title 1 serving at risk, high basic needs children.  
 
Additionally, the RCO sponsored 2 separate Scholastic Book Fairs at Ivey Lane, in October, 2018 and January, 2019.   RCO provided $7 so every PK - 5 student received their own book at Ivey Lane plus $20 for each teacher to buy needed books for their classroom.  Cost for November Book Fair was $2,606.  Cost for January Book Fair was $2,781.   405 students and 21 teachers participated in both book fairs.
 
Also, the RCO sponsored a Scholastic Book Fair at Rock Lake in March 2019.   RCO provided $7 so every PK - 5 student received their own book at Rock Lake.  Cost of Book Fair was $2,604.   375 students participated in book fair.
 
Total cost of our Literacy Project was $14,013.  32 Rotarians volunteered to serve in the literacy program.  All of these funds were restricted funds limited to literacy passed through the Rotary Club of Orlando Foundation, Inc (RCOF).  Contributions received to support this project; The Stine Foundation contributed $8,800,  The Chesley G. Macgruder Foundation, Inc. contributed $5,000 and the balance carry over of $2,233 from 2017/2018.
 
FOOD DRIVES AT IVEY LANE
The Rotary Club of Orlando completed two separate food drives for Ivey Lane Elementary School Food Pantry in November 2018 and April 2019.  We collected 662 items valued at $764 and $95 in Cash.
 
SCHOOL STORE AT IVEY LANE
Ivey Lane Christmas  -  In lieu of our normal Angel Tree Christmas Party at Ivey Lane, the school administration has asked if we might provide gifts for the School Store.   The School Store serves all of the students of the school.  The students are given reward points, Knight Bucks, for excellent  work or other outstanding performances.  The points are redeemed at the School Store. In December our club collected items ($500) and cash ($380) for the School Store at Ivey Lane.

Also, the RCO sponsored a Scholastic Book Fair at Rock Lake in March 2018.   RCO provided $7 so every PK - 5 student received their own book at Rock Lake.  Cost of Book Fair was $1,847.   352 students participated in book fair.
 
Total cost of our Literacy Project was $10,946.  All of these funds were restricted funds limited to literacy passed through the Rotary Club of Orlando Foundation, Inc (RCOF).  The Stine Foundation contributed $9,200 and the balance was a carry over from 2016/2017.
 
The Rotary Club of Orlando Foundation, Inc. also provided a grant of $1,000 to furnish a BookBin to the ACE PreSchool Center at Paramore.  This was in conjunction with the Rotary International Zone meeting in Orlando.  The participants in the Zone meeting provided books for the BookBin.  This was a gift from RCOF using unrestricted funds.

The RCO sponsored a Scholastic Book Fairs at Rock Lake in March. RCO provided $7 so every PK - 5 student(275 students) received their own book at Rock Lake. Cost of Book Fair was $1,925. 275 students participated in book fair.
 
2015-2016
The RCO sponsored 2 separate Scholastic Book Fairs at Ivey Lane. Scholastic and Ivey Lane personnel planned and executed the book fairs in October 2014 and March 2015. RCO provided $5 so every PK - 5 student (355 students) received their own book at Ivey Lane as well as $10 for each teacher (20 classroom teachers) to buy needed books for their classroom. Cost for Book Fair #1 was $1,439. Cost for Book Fair #2 was $1,734.25. Total cost was $3,173.
