Last week's meeting For our first Wednesday Social evening,, Jim Pockross led an excellent book club discussion of - The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson. We had 15 members participate and share their unanimous appreciation for the book. This week's meeting Our Speakers; Hal Sprague and Emily Hammermeister - Trajectory Energy Partners Topic: Solar Energy Programs Hal grew up in New Jersey, and moved to Illinois in 1993 to work as an environmental lawyer at Abbott Laboratories. He lives in Evanston and has been very active as a board member of Citizens’ Greener Evanston, helping the City implement its Climate Action & Resilience Plan. Hal graduated from Williams College, in Massachusetts, with a B.A. in Biology, from the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, with a M.S. in Water Resource Management, and from the University of Colorado, in Boulder, with a J.D.
Hal is very excited to be learning as much as he can about the critical and growing field for renewable energy, and in particular helping individuals, business and faith communities, schools and municipalities go solar to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
Emily grew up and continues to live in Northwest Indiana, right in the backyard of huge refineries, where she gained an initial interest in the environment. She is a recent graduate of Loyola University Chicago, earning a B.S. in Environmental Science, and is interested in the science and social injustice that surrounds the environmental field. At Trajectory, Emily works on developing solar projects in Illinois and is excited to be able to provide community solar for all.
