Born and raised on the north side of Chicago. Alan is currently an “Expert” for Apple Inc, and has a second part time business call Travel Doctor Consulting, which supplies automation, web, sales training and motivational speaking to the Travel and Hospitality industry. Alan entered the automation field 8 years ago after 35 years in the travel industry. Alan started his career in the travel industry as a passenger service agent for United Airlines at O'Hare International Airport in 1971 as a passenger service agent. Over his career Alan has worked in all facets of the travel industry from hotels to tour operators. Alan owned his own agency, The Cruise Corner & Vacation Center for 12 years prior to joining Apple.
 
Alan's show business career began when he was 4 years old as a walk on in a local community theater play. From there Alan performed in many school and community theater shows. Alan worked with David Mamett in a number of shows in the late 60's and early 70's. Alan has worked with Long time Talk Show host Clark Weber at WIND radio and at Super Station WGN in Chicago as the voice of AAA Travel in the early 1980's. Alan has a number of awards to his name including a New York Film Festival Award. Alan was the host of "The Travel Doctor Radio Program" talk show in Chicago for 10 years on WCBR 92.7FM and then on AM1000, WMVP.
 
Alan has been featured in Travel Trade,Travel Life and Travel Weekly and has had articles published in various trade publications. Alan has also been a featured speaker and workshop leader at Travel Trade Cruise A Thon’s, American Express National Conference, AAA National Conference, MAST Annual Conference and ASTA.
 
Alan is well respected in the travel industry. He was a founding member of the travel automation development team for MAST (Midwest Agents Selling Travel) and helped develop a global cruise reservation system, Amadeus Cruise that made its debut to the travel industry in 2000.
 
Alan keeps busy in his community and is the past President of the Wilmette Harbor Rotary Club. He is also the past president of the Skokie School District 68 Board of Education, past chairman of the District 68 Policy Advisory Council (teachers bargaining unit), and Past Chairman of the District 68 Strategic Planning Committee. Former Executive Board member of the Illinois School Board Association North Cook Division. Alan was also the Executive Vice President of Skokie Youth Sports that encompasses Skokie Youth Baseball, Football and Basketball. Alan currently is the Vice Chairman of the Skokie Illinois Zoning Board and the past Chairman of the Skokie Human Relations Commission
 
Alan currently lives in Skokie Illinois with his Wife Lillian. He has two children, son Michael (31 years old) and his Daughter Lisa (27 years old).
