On Wednesday, June 9 we will welcome Kristin Bernhard, J.D., Sr. Vice President, Advocacy & Policy at Start Early. For nearly 40 years, Start Early (formerly known as the Ounce) has been a champion for quality early learning and care, focused on closing the opportunity gap for children from before birth through their earliest years. Kristin leads the advocacy and policy strategy at Start Early, where she oversees teams that advocate, consult and connect to ensure stronger early learning systems in communities, states across the country, and federally. Kristin will introduce us to Start Early and their work, as well as discuss current historic federal policy advancements in early learning, including how President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and American Families Plan have the opportunity to shape early childhood education for generations to come.
