Hybrid Meeting- March 2
The meeting this week, March 2, will be the hybrid format (in-person and Zoom).  We will continue this way until further notice, we will be meeting at Hackney's on Lake (1514 East Lake St., Glenview, IL (847) 724-7171).  Meetings will begin a 12:15pm.  Hackney's will bill each of us individually for our meals.

February 2 Program - Rotary Case Study
We viewed an inspiring video about the Rotary Club of West Plano, Texas.  Club President, Alex Johnson, explained how his club became a recognized force in local community service.  Membership rose from 20 to 65 during his tenure as president.  By promoting community service projects (up to 75 each year) residents of the community volunteered to help and several became Rotary members. He emphasized that people joined his club because they wanted to participate by doing good things for the community.
Random Acts of Kindness Day - Feb 14
Random Acts of Kindness Day is Feb 14 this year (which is also Valentine's Day).  There are several ways you can demonstrate a random act of kindness. Some ideas are:
  • Compliment at least 5 people.
  • Let the person in line behind you go ahead of you.
  • Babysit for a single mom for free.
  • Help an elderly neighbor take out the trash or shovel their walkway.
  • Write your siblings a note about how much you appreciate them.
  • Bring a box of doughnuts to the custodians at school or work.
  • Leave a thank you note in the mailbox addressed to the mailman.
  • Send a card to someone serving in the military.
  • Hold the door open for someone.
  • Do a chore without being asked.
  • Surprise some friends with dinner. (Drop it off, don’t stay.)
  • Find someone who looks like they’ve had a bad day and give them a $5 gift card.
  • Go through the drive-thru and pay for the car behind you.
  • Smile at everyone you see.
Remember:  The smallest deed is greater than the grandest intention.

2022 Rotary International Convention
There is no experience quite like attending a Rotary International Convention. It’s an opportunity for members to connect personally with people from around the world, celebrate our service, and work together to find solutions for the world’s most pressing challenges.

The 2022 Rotary International Convention will be held in Houston, Texas, USA, June 4-8. Those who can’t make the trip in early June can still experience the convention virtually. See Share the promotional video to see more about this important event.  To register:   https://convention.rotary.org/en/houston
