Emily Kenward, Chicago Site Director for Hands of Peace, told us about this remarkable organization that brings American, Palestinian and Israeli youth together to talk, cooperate and learn from one another.  She talked about the summer program where the young people spend 19 days in Chicago and San Diego for a three-week dialogue-based experience. In dialogue sessions led by professional facilitators from the Middle East, the participants learn about “the other,” they share complicated and sometimes painful stories about the conflict, and explore peaceful solutions to foster equality, freedom and justice.
