Amalya (Ami) Campbell is the Co-Author of Love Let Go: Radical Generosity for the Real World and a marketing consultant with an MBA from Harvard Business School. Ami related her remarkable life story, and how it inspired her to encourage others to promote and understand generosity. Born in Vietnam, she was airlifted to the United States where her life changed.
She grew up in a single-parent household. She was the first in her family to attend a four-year college, and was determined to make enough money to not have to think about it all the time.  She married soon after and became a successful consultant.
She and her husband sponsored a three-year-old child in Tanzania.  In visiting the girl, Ami discovered the power of Radical Generosity. The mother of the girl had four other children and cared for while farming the family's land.  Ami was struck by the realization that her life could have been exactly like the Indian mother …except for the fact that Ami was airlifted out of poverty and the other woman wasn’t. She realized that this gift changed her life completely.
After that trip, Ami realized that generosity wasn’t an act of giving, it was a way of living.  A reality of generosity is that it ripples out far beyond what we can imagine.  Scientists call this “Social Contagion”.  In fact, Rotary programs of support are examples of that … for which we can all be proud.
