"Uncle Joe" Lesniak Service Above Self Scholarship
Exceptional Level of Community Service Demonstrating Leadership, Personal Interview, Community Service References and Written Essay are required.
 

In order to be eligible  for the “Uncle Joe” Lesniak Service Above Self Scholarship, the student must have an above-average cumulative grade point average, participated in a variety of extracurricular activities, have an exceptional level of community service, and has demonstrated leadership potential while attending high school and/or college.  Finally, the student must also be able to supply the following:

  • Official transcript from high school and college (if applicable).
  • Three letters of recommendation, each not to exceed one page, describing the applicant’s involvement in community service.  This can include any service organization or any organized activity in which the applicant has exhibited a high degree of leadership.  You should provide two service activity letters of recommendation and one scholastic letter of recommendation.
  • Rotarians live by the motto, “Service Above Self” and apply the test, known as “The Four Way Test” to our everyday work and personal life.  Please research the Four Way Test and then provide us with an essay of 500 words or less detailing how applying the Motto and the Four Way Test apply to your life now and in the future.  It must be typed in Times New Roman and 12 point font.
