Hello, my name is Bridget Downing. I am studying to be a nurse at Harper College, I am in my first semester here. I am a divorced single mother with two children, I work part-time as a CNA for a local home health care agency, and I am a full time student here at Harper.
Thank you so much for this opportunity! I have dreamed of being a nurse for almost 7 years now, and with your donation I am now able to do just that. I couldn’t believe that I had been selected! I told everyone I knew I had gotten a scholarship to be a nurse. Thank you for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.
This scholarship is helping to pay for some of the mandatory testing workshops I attend so I am well prepared upon graduation to take the NCLEX and become an RN. It will also help to cover the cost of material such as my nursing supplies kit, uniforms, and clinical supplies, and my classes, which run at double tuition.
I chose to get my nursing degree at Harper as opposed to other schools because they are one of the few accredited nursing colleges that is adorable for students, and all hospitals I have spoken with about Harper speak very highly of the students that are attending, or have graduated from the nursing program.
Obtaining this scholarship has made me feel like someone actually believes that I can be an amazing nurse and deserving of the opportunity to obtain the education and realize my dream.
