On Friday 17 November Rotarians from the Schaumburg-Hoffman Estates club gathered at our Community partner GiGi's Playhouse in Hoffman Estates. Lunch was provided by Best Truckin' BBQ and served to us by the GiGi's program participants, who also joined us for lunch.
The Gigi’s program director, Elizabeth, gave an overview of the services available at Gigi’s. Then gave Chris an opportunity to speak. Chris was rightfully proud of all the advancements he has made in life due to his time spent in Gigi’s as a Gigi’s U student, mentor and now Team Leader. Nancy Gianni then spoke about Chris and how much he has grown. Chris is a trusted Gigi’s leader who is one of the few people who have the code to the door lock and can be trusted to open the building in the morning. He is amazing! Elizabeth offered to tours of the building to anyone who desired one. They would be shown the four learning labs, the kitchen, the play spaces and Hugs and Mugs. They are in need of new furniture, a microphone and additional tutors. A real need is a speech pathologist. Contact Elizabeth at Gigi’s if you can assist with any of these needs.
