ROTARY RAISES OVER $150,000 AT ITS “HONORING OUR COMMUNITY HEROES VIRTUAL GALA & ONLINE AUCTION”

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL (March 17, 2021) – The ROTARY CLUB OF SCHAUMBURG-HOFFMAN ESTATES HONORED COMMUNITY HEROES while raising desperately needed funds (over $150K) for the most vulnerable in its communities. Their VIRTUAL GALA fundraiser on March 13th.was attended by 400+ guests who bought tickets to win $10,000 or four other money prizes, bid on a plethora of auction items, danced at home to the lively sounds of Yazz Jazz, and learned about the powerful impact these Rotarians have brought forth during this pandemic year. The engaging virtual event was hosted by Natalie Martinez, NBC News Anchor.
 
Event Co-Chairs Julie Clark and George Panopoulos led a team a dedicated club members who planned and executed a very professional presentation. The live drawing of the cash prize winners culminated the fast-moving hour-long virtual event.
 
During the past year, this very active service club banded together and provided much needed aide to help those suffering most from the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic by providing hard-to-get personal protection equipment to frontline workers, feeding many hundreds of students, seniors, veterans, and frontline workers, assisting the hardest hit with economic aide, and awarding over $100,000 in scholarships.
 
Proud of its 50+ year philanthropic history, this Rotary Club has raised over $5 million for the Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates communities (including $250,000 for the Women’s & Children’s wing of the St. Alexius Hospital and $100,000 for the Children’s Home + Aid Society’s Schaumburg location), and contributed countless hours to local hands-on projects.
