Club members participated in the 2nd annual December Feed My Starving Children’s (FMSC) Hope Filled Holiday hand-packed meal packing event that took place from December 8 – 10 at the Schaumburg Convention Center’s Adventure Hall, with a goal of packing 1 million plus meals to benefit starving, malnourished and hungry people, including children.
Specifically, Schaumburg AM Rotarians assembled meals during the 4 – 6 pm packing shift on Friday, December 8, followed by the club’s holiday party held at the home of one of its members, where food and fellowship were enjoyed by all.  And we were lucky enough to have 17/18 Rotary District 6440 Governor Don Brewer and his wife, Roseann, join us for both activities!
FMSC reports that during the three day event 4,737 boxes representing 1,023,192 MannaPack Rice meals were packed that would care for 2,803 children for an entire year.
MannaPack Rice is a nutritionally complete meal consisting of rice, dried vegetables, soy protein and a vitamin packed flavoring.  FMSC meals have been distributed in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, and North, Central and South America.
