Schaumburg AM Rotarians Brian Bieschke, Sharon Perry, Greg Ring and Scott Zambo were present at today’s meeting of the Rotary Club of Schaumburg – Hoffman Estates when Schaumburg - Hoffman Estates Rotary Club president Bill Kelley welcomed 16/17 Rotary International President John F. Germ as VIP guest and keynote speaker.

Also present for this special occasion were numerous District 6440 dignitaries in addition to representatives from other clubs in the District.

Germ stated that we (i.e. Rotary) are in the “people business” and that the Rotary pin proudly worn by more than 1.2 million Rotarians around the world indicates that we are “dependable, trustworthy and that we give more than we take in our communities”.

To quote from President Germ’s December 2016 message to Rotarians worldwide – “Through our vocations and in our clubs, in our communities, and across continents, we are touching the lives of people we don’t know and might never meet. And in every part of the world, every single day, whether they know it or not, people are living better, safer, and healthier lives because of the work of Rotary.

The people we help might not have met a single Rotarian. They might not even know that Rotary exists. But they are drinking clean water from a bore well that Rotary dug. They’re learning to read with books that Rotary gave them. They’re living lives that are better, happier, and healthier – because of Rotary Serving Humanity."
