No coats to donate? You can still help!!  Use this link to buy through our partner "Operation Warm
Operation Warm is a national nonprofit that manufactures brand-new, high-quality coats and shoes for children in need. We partner with compassionate individuals, community organizations, and corporations to provide emotional warmth,
confidence to socialize and succeed, and hope of a brighter future. For those who don’t have coats to donate, we are partnering with Operation Warm where new winter coats can be purchased and donated to our drive for $25.

One of Rotary’s single most ambitious projects, to confront malaria in Zambia, has roots in a friendship.

When Rotarian Bill Feldt discusses the initiative, which grew to receive The Rotary Foundation’s first $2 million Programs of Scale award in 2021, he doesn’t mention dollars secured or accolades collected. He focuses on the doctor in Zambia who became his friend: Mwangala Muyendekwa.

The Rotary Foundation transforms your gifts into service projects that change lives both close to home and around the world.

Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects. Together, we can make an impact in your community and around the world.

Our mission: The Rotary Foundation helps Rotary members to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty.

What impact can one donation have?

  • $3 is the average cost to fully protect a child against polio.
  • $50 can maintain water filters to help fight waterborne illness.
  • $200 to develop work opportunities by replacing livestock for people impacted by disasters.
A guest filled meeting!!
Our holiday lunch meeting was beautiful (thanks Elke). The guitar playing by Chris Laughlin (thanks Sandy) was inspiring, the food was really terrific (thanks Max & Benny’s) and the best part? The guests!! Rick and Helen brought family from out of town, Ron invited local biz owners-Julie & Frank, Jim’s guest Mina is the conductor of the Northbrook Symphony! We had Nika from Two Men & a Truck and our Coat Off Your back leader, Rick who talked about the drive. These moments are illustrative of Rotarian’s in action! When folks can see the comradery of an organization it has impact. We will see you all at the Club Holiday Party at the Frums on Tuesday night!
