Today October 24, 2017- Avenues of Service Meeting. We will learn more about the five Avenues of Service (Club, Youth, Vocational, Community and International) and discuss what service projects are planned for the Rotary year.
A study, published in Science, found that groups with more women were more collectively intelligent and that “groups where a few people dominated the conversation were less collectively intelligent than those with a more equal distribution of conversational turn-taking.” So even if you’re the smartest one at the meeting, wait your turn. If you try to ram your brilliance down other people’s throats, you’ll make the whole group dumber. Some advocate thinking through what is called “the four P’s” before any meeting starts. Purpose: What are we trying to achieve? Process: How is this meeting going to function? People: Who should be there? And Product: What needs to happen by the end of the meeting?
“The magnitude of the devastation that is occurring right now in the North Bay and wine county is vast and far reaching. The recovery and rebuild is going to be a long process but we are confident that we can lead the way in bringing these communities back.
Rotarians know how to get things done and won’t stop until we reach the finish line,” said Bob Rogers, Rotary 5130 District Governor.
The Rotary 5130 Fire Relief Fund is administered by Rotarians and supports a multitude of areas of need as identified, including but not limited to; small business grants, housing, shelter support, grief counseling, unmet needs and any other assistance to the businesses and residents that have been displaced by this tragedy.
100% of all donations will be used to support the fire survivors with no fund overhead expense.
