From our new Governor!

Greetings Fellow Rotarians and Friends!

As we transition to the new Rotary year, I am honored to be the newly installed District Governor of Rotary District 6440. I am deeply humbled and incredibly excited to embark on this journey with all of you. I have had the pleasure of attending many President and Officer installations over the past month and celebrating the many successes you have had over the past year. Congratulations to all the outgoing officers, and thank you for your service.

As we move forward, it is crucial to recognize the importance of continuity and succession planning. Our strength lies in our ability to build on the successes of the past while preparing for the future. I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition and fostering leadership that will carry our district to new heights. I hope that you will embrace the same in your clubs.

I also want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Mary Bak, our outgoing District Governor, for her outstanding leadership and all that was accomplished in the last year. We will continue to build on her successes, striving to achieve even greater milestones together.

As many of you know, the Presidential theme for the year is The Magic of Rotary. President Stephanie Urchick speaks of the "Magic of Rotary," which manifests in every dollar we raise for the Foundation, each new member we welcome, and every service project we complete. Let's harness this magic to propel us toward greater achievements.

After the many conversations we have had with each of you, your club’s number one concern remains membership. Based on that feedback, our Call to Action for the coming year is clear: Engage and retain our members while increasing our impact and awareness. Additionally, we must use our public image to promote Rotarians as People of Action, showcasing the profound impact we have on our communities. Telling our Rotary story will be paramount to the vibrance of Rotary.

While it is important to acknowledge our successes internally and with our clubs, we must also celebrate our achievements with an outward focus. It is essential to share the story of Rotary with the greater community, highlighting the incredible impact we are making locally and globally.

Thank you for your trust, support, and commitment to Rotary. Together, we can achieve remarkable things.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Thor Davidson
District Governor
From
Donna Lee Gulley

Donna is inviting the club...

On July 14, Sunday, at 10:00 am

Northbrook United Methodist Church

Pastor Krista and Rotarian Donna Lee Gulley will do a dialogue entitled, “Service is Joy.”
It will highlight Shelterbox, the Indri bathroom grant, local projects that we support, the service emphasis
particularly of our Satellite club.

It is a small, accepting, and welcoming congregation - and Donna Lee invites and encourages Rotarians to join in the discussion.
