TIMISMS!! Selling Game Night tickets across platforms – is easy with Tim’s ideas!
An easy, passive way to sell raffle tickets for our upcoming Rock 'n' Rotary Game Night is to share our online sales link alongside a few words about how Rotary uses the proceeds to do good right here in Northbrook.
This can be done over email, by text message, or via a post to one of the popular social/networking applications like Facebook, LinkedIN, YouTube, BlueSky etc.. The best part: Once you send or post your message, your work is done!
This email includes quick, step-by-step instructions and even some suggested language - but feel free to create your own message
EMAIL MADE EASY:
Remember, winners don't have to be present at our event. Try including friends and family from out of town!
In an email, the most important thing is to provide this link, where people can read about the event and buy tickets: https://go.rallyup.com/rocknrotary/Campaign/Details NOTE: [Consider using your direct link so you get credit for the sale]
Here is an example EMAIL- feel free to simply copy and paste this into a blank email message:
The Rotary Club of Northbrook is holding a fundraiser! Our Rock 'n' RotaryGame Night will take place on April 24th at the North Suburban Y (2705 Techny Road in Northbrook) from 7-9 p.m. Tickets are $50 each, with all proceeds going either towards local and international causes like food insecurity, mental health, and helping those with special needs, or towards providing scholarships for local students. Your ticket is good for entry in our $1,500 raffle and includes admission for two hours of games with prizes, snacks and soft drinks. On event night, guests that do not wish to take part in the $1,500 raffle can purchase entry to the Rock 'n' Rotary fun for a $15 admission fee.
Raffle tickets may be purchased at the link below. The raffle winner does not need to be present. This is a great chance to have fun and assist a worthy cause!
Text Message: This has been by far the most effective method in my experience. Nowadays, it's just so simple to follow links and buy things from your phone. Plus, you can send one message to many recipients at once very easily or even ask your spouse to ask their friends and colleagues for support.
Here's just one example - remember, no need to cover every little detail in a text because all of the specifics are provided when your recipients click the link:
Tickets are NOW Available for Playing for a Purpose....
The agenda of games is set for our Spring fund-raiser on April 24,2026. Some games will be played as teams, and others individually. They were all chosen by our sub-committee with the thought that they would be fun for all.
We need 14 volunteers to be table captains. The main job of the table captain will be to keep score for team games. If you would like to be a table captain, contact Beverly Moriello.
Raffle tickets are $50 and will entitle the holder to play all games, soft drinks, snacks, game prizes and participation in the $1500 raffle.
On April 24th only, admittance may be obtained for $15 a person and will entitle the person to everything previously stated except participation in the raffle.
We are doing this to encourage people to bring their children and grandchildren.
We want this to be a family event.
Our Spring fundraiser will take place April 24,2026 in the ABC Room at the North Suburban YMCA from 7-9 PM.
Call Denis with any questions, to get tickets or to volunteer!
As our district prepares - our club is encouraged to PLAN now! Will you help?
Join us in hosting the World's Largest Polio Walk on October 24, 2026!
Rotarians from Zones 25b & 29 will be participating in the World's Largest Polio Walk by joining forces to walk together at 10 a.m. CDT for an end to polio.
Hosted by District 6440, the walk is planned to take place throughout the Midwest. Guess how many states how many clubs are participating?
World’s Largest Polio Walk scheduled for October 24, 2026, the current participation plans are centered around a large-scale collaboration across the central United States:
Scope of Participation
Target Districts: The primary push is coming from Rotary Zones 25B and 29, which collectively represent a massive footprint across the Midwest and Central United States.
Geographic Reach: The event is designed to span multiple states, with organizers from District 6440 (Illinois) coordinating with clubs throughout the central U.S. to ensure a unified start time of 10:00 a.m. CDT.
While a final "club count" for 2026 is still growing, the zones involved typically represent hundreds of clubs.
Growth and Planning
Organizers are currently holding monthly planning sessions to recruit more districts and clubs to break the standing world record.
The goal is to have every club within these two massive zones (which cover areas like Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, and Minnesota) activate their members for this single, synchronized walk.
Dear Fellow Rotarian, please join us next Tuesday, March 17th at 12:15 pm at Max and Benny's in Northbrook on 461 Waukegan Road.

Thank you.
Yours in Rotary
Elke :)

Bernie's Book Bank
The members of Northbrook Rotary are volunteering to sort donated children's books at Bernie's Book Bank (917 W. North Shore Drive, Lake Bluff, IL) on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. The hours are 4:00 - 5:30 PM. Arrangements are being made at a local restaurant for an optional dinner afterwards.
If you are fairly new to our club, you may not know about Bernie's. It is a terrific organization that solicits donations of children's books and then distributes them to children in underserved communities. When we volunteer at Bernie's, we are given various tasks to do, all revolving around sorting those books and getting them ready for distribution.
I received a request from Hunger Resource Network - they are in need of volunteers for Poultry to Pantries on Saturday, March 21st from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM
