Andy Vass will introduce Bruce Crane who tell us about StreetWise.
StreetWise is a workforce development agency designed to help the homeless and those at risk of homelessness out of the crisis of poverty.

The StreetWise model combines supportive social services, (focused on employment training; housing placement; and financial literacy) with the opportunity for gainful self-employment, in order to assist clients on the road to stability and self-sufficiency.
Last Regular Meeting
Jan Gibson gave us a short history of the elegant 1927 Genesee Theatre in Waukegan and showed us photos of the recently remodeled interior. She explained that in addition to on stage performances the theater also hosts conferences, receptions and private parties.

Carrying a Rotary card with your business cards is a great leave-behind piece at the end of a conversation about Rotary.  You can write your club's meeting time and place and extend an invite.

Contact your club secretary or go online for any of these pins.

Comments from United Nation’s former General Secretary Ban Ki-moon

I’m not sure that I can offer any advice to Rotary leaders. Your organization is older than the United Nations and, arguably, you have a broader representation than we do. When I had the privilege to address your members recently in Korea, I think I counted more flags in the hall than we have at the United Nations! Rotary and other similarly engaged civil society organizations represent the best that the world has to offer. You understand the need to get involved and participate positively in the lives of your communities and the world around us.

We now have a global agenda to build a better, more equitable, more sustainable world. I would encourage Rotary International to embrace the Sustainable Development Goals and find within them areas where we could, as partners, replicate the success of the polio eradication campaign.
