The Northbrook Fourth of July festivities are fast approaching, and we've created a sign-up page here for parade walkers, plus set-up help and participants for the family activities we're putting on before the fireworks.
Opportunities include (but aren't limited to):
At the parade (Starting around 3:30 on the 4th)
Parade walkers (the more the merrier!)
Riders, and someone (or someones) to drive cars in the parade
At the Velodrome/NBJH Sports Fields (Starting around 6:00 and ending at dark when the fireworks start)

Featuring a 30-Minute Comedy Set by Mike Maxwell!
We’re adding laughs to the mix this year with a live performance by Mike Maxwell—a sharp, high-energy Chicago comedian, writer, and actor.
You’ve heard him on WLS-890 and WGN-720 AM, read his work in the Tribune’s RedEye, and now you’ll see him live in action!
Mike’s comedy is a hilarious blend of sarcasm, emotion, and shared life moments that everyone can relate to. His credits include Chicago Sketchfest, Laughfest, and Fringe Festival, and his debut album “Wait It Out!” was released in 2024 to rave reviews.
Come for the celebration, stay for the friendship, soak in the Rotary spirit, and enjoy a night full of laughter.
Action messages capture and reflect the essence of who we are and should be incorporated into our communications. It’s a way of talking about ourselves so that people outside Rotary better understand what connects us as committed volunteers who channel our skills and expertise into taking action to solve problems in our communities and around the world.
The People of Action message provides a simple, consistent answer to the question, "What is Rotary?" and rallies us around a single idea: telling — and showing — the world that we are people of action.
In the text of your ad or social media post, tell your People of Action story. Keep it short but informative and inspiring. In as few words as possible:
Say what you did: What action did you take?
Offer statistics or other proof of the difference you made: What did you accomplish? How did your club's action change lives?
Issue a call to action: Do you want people to donate, participate, or learn more? Make it clear what you want them to do.

Recently - a zealous Rotarian created an international uproar with a social media post. Please use our Rotary brand center!
The long history of a Rotary International President launching a theme for their presidential year is going away in 2025-2026. This decision was made by the RI Board of Directors at their October 2023 Meeting. (Read the details of decisions from that meeting here.)
The rationale behind the decision is based on the importance of standardizing branding and communications.
The presidential themes were to be used only for internal communications to motivate Rotary members.
However, too many clubs and districts used the theme as a logo to promote Rotary projects and events to the public.
Additionally, the themes changed every year, and some clubs and districts preferred promoting a past theme over the current theme due to personal preference.
This causes confusion with helping the public understand the focus of Rotary and what we stand for.
