BRING YOUR LAPTOP OR IPAD
November 4, 2025 meeting we will launch our HundredX survey evaluations of various brands. Members in attendance will need to bring charged cell phones and/or laptops. We will start by having members link into the survey and then we will do brand evaluations as a club project. Assistance will be provided to those in need of help. The evaluations are easy to do, take no more than two minutes each and will earn our charitable foundation $1.60 for each evaluation. All personal information will remain confidential and will not be disclosed to any outside source.
At our Rotary meeting this coming Tuesday, our members will each have an excellent opportunity to provide an addition to the finances of our foundation without it costing that member a single cent. Because of this, I am anticipating a robust attendance. A large part of our meeting will be devoted to viewing a Hundredx sign up tutorial, signing up members to conduct our surveys (you will need a charged smart phone or laptop) and we will then do surveys as a project for the remainder of the meeting. There will be members available to assist anyone who experiences difficulty. Below is the link to get started with the survey and the information you will need if you choose to do the surveys on your smart phone. These items will be activated on Monday November 3rd and will remain open for us to do additional surveys until December 2nd.

The survey ENDS December 2, 2025 so that you can continue the project as time permits. This is an opportunity for you to assist our fundraising efforts with no personal financial outlay and only a small-time commitment.
We will have Rotarians on site to help get you set up and trained!!
Thanksgiving is around the corner and for us, filling our bellies with delicious turkey and all the trimmings is rarely an issue.
However, as we are aware, so many in our community and surrounding towns are still going hungry. For many, hunger has recently become even more of a challenge. They might ask themselves, “Do we eat or pay the rent? Do we eat or have heat in our homes?” As Rotarians, we know that we can make a difference in the lives of others.
The current government shutdown puts SNAP benefits at the risk of delay putting more pressure on local food pantries. Please open your hearts and wallets. The Northfield Food Pantry requests the following for the coming month. If you cannot purchase these items, any quality food will help and of course, you can always make a donation. We need TEN more volunteers for the Feed6 event on Saturday morning, 11/08/25. Outreach-Feed6 has partnered with the Chicago Wolves Ice Hockey Teamnto host our largest Veterans meal packaging event yet in the Chicago area.Here are the details:

Task: Stand along a long table and help pack literally thousands of meals for those in need
Who: Literally anyone can help, even school-age children

More than 50 collection barrels have been placed across Northbrook, Glenview, Deerfield including at the Public Libraries and Village Halls in all three communities. (Yay Glenview finally signed on this year!!)
Barrels will be collected morning of Monday 12/15.
Last year, exactly 1,700 winter coats were distributed to more than a dozen organizations to help homeless, refugees, migrants, veterans and others in need stay a bit warmer. This year’s target is 2,000 winter coats.
In addition to the regular drop off locations, coats will be collected at several special events in each community.

Our 2025 sponsors drive resulted in thirteen sponsors that contributed $24,000 to our charitable foundation. My anticipation is that we will need to be proactive this year in order to reach that plateau again. I am therefore requesting each member who has a good relationship with an owner or manager of a business or brand in Northbrook to approach that person to see if they would be interested in a 2026 sponsorship.
Make sure you tell them about the grants we disburse, the service we provide and the fact that we want the community to know of their generosity by naming them at our fund raisers, on our website, Rally Up and with a banner in front of Village Green Park that hangs there for a period of one week in September. I have attached to this email a sponsorship form for 2026. If the person is interested in a sponsorship, they should return the form with a check for either $1000, $3000 or $5000.
It is essential that we act quickly on this since many organizations do charitable budgeting in November and December for the next year. We don't want to be approaching these organizations if they have already exhausted their charitable budget.
At the District Conference on November 1st, Governor-elect Reigner announced his exciting initiative:
“The World’s Largest Polio Walk,” launching in 2026.
This bold effort will mobilize all 23 districts in our Zone, more than 1,100 clubs, and over 45,000 Rotarians across 11 states — walking together to raise awareness and funds to End Polio Now.
Our district will play a leading role in bringing this vision to life-and we will need your support!

Over the next several weeks, we as a club will be going through a process to nominate and select club members to fill leadership positions in Northbrook Rotary for 2026-27. You play an integral part in this process. We are seeking your input. We are hoping that each committee next year will consist of a few members who would work together to share the load and learn the nuances of that committee.
