Join Rotarians from across District 6440 for the Grow with Rotary Conference on Saturday, November 1, 2025. The day will feature inspiring speakers, breakout sessions on membership, service, youth, and leadership, plus time to connect in the House of Friendship. You’ll leave with new ideas, stronger connections, and practical tools to help your club grow. All Rotarians are welcome to register.
The District 6440 Grow with Rotary Conference brings Rotarians together from across the district for a full day of learning, connection, and celebration. On Saturday, November 1, 2025, you’ll discover new ideas for membership, youth programs, community service, and leadership.
Breakout sessions will cover Rotary’s newest membership tools, how to run impactful service projects, energizing Interact and Youth Exchange programs, simple public image strategies, and ways clubs can support mental health in their communities. You’ll also hear stories from clubs putting the Rotary Action Plan into action with real results.
Keynote speaker Tom Gump will present “Elevating the Rotary Experience: From Engagement to Impact,” showing how clubs can create meaningful experiences that build stronger connections and lasting impact. Melissa McCormick will deliver “Think You’re Not a Leader? Think Again,” reminding us that leadership isn’t about titles. It’s about action, influence, and making a difference wherever you are.
During the day, you’ll have time to network in the House of Friendship, celebrate the work of The Rotary Foundation, and share ideas with other leaders. Presidents-Elect can also take part in a special President-Elect Orientation.
You’ll leave motivated, connected, and ready with practical tools to help your club grow.
All Rotarians within District 6440 are encouraged to register for the District Conference.
Our last meeting included a visit by Governor Frisbee. Thanks Nicholas for bringing the Village of Northbrook Proclamation to the meeting!! Governor Frisbee encourages all members to attend the District Conference Saturday, November 1st. She talked about enhancing participant engagement to increase and measure impact of what our clubs are doing by sharing stories, to the need to increase our ability to adapt. These visits are important and appreciated so thanks to all who attended. Don’t miss the conference for more!

Dear friends,
Herbert, Jörg, Michael and myself visited father Jan in the Ukraine together with Robert and
his son Cuba from Friday and came back today.
We flew to Krakow in Poland and took a van to Ternipol where the monastery is where father Jan lives presently. There we had the opportunity to visit, our Rotarian“ ambulance car we organized for them two years ago and they still use to transport wounded soldiers from the war border towards the west.
Additionally we talked to the people working in the hospital how the situation is impacting everybody and what is needed the most.
All this could not have happed without your support. So thanks again.
We visited also a home for handicapped children as well a home for children without parents and brought them sweets. You should have seen the smiling eyes ❤.
Also we had the chance to visit the Rotary Club Lviv International and had a wonderful exchange. We had lunch together and visited a local brewery.
Another project which is just coming up is a new rehabilitation center and we could see the plans from the architect and the land where everything should be build.
Of course we want to support father Jan and the Franziskaner further and we are planning a big truck to go to the Ukraine in November with food, sanitary products, medicine, some sweets and games for the children for Christmas and so on.
This is just a small update that you know what is going on. Despite that we have been in a country which is in war we had a wonderful time with a lot of thankful and cheerful moments. and Vodka.

The German Rotarians are planning a big truck to go to the Ukraine in November with food, sanitary products, medicine, some sweets and games for the children for Christmas and so on.
I am going to Germany on November 2 and will meet with Rotarian Joerg Schuele.
For anyone who wants to help purchase some of the sweets and games for the Ukrainian children, please send me your contribution by Zelle (8479099072) or Venmo (@rrivkin) or find me in person no later than Tuesday October 28. Sorry, I will not be at the October 28 meeting due to a family commitment.
District Conference on November 1st BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
Greetings Rotarians,
World Polio Day was a powerful opportunity to spotlight Rotary’s unwavering commitment to eradicating this disease from the planet. As our top external priority, we will continue to fund and support this mission until the job is done. I’m incredibly proud of the amazing work our district contributes each year toward this cause.
At the District Conference on November 1st, I’ll be announcing an exciting initiative: “The World’s Largest Polio Walk,” launching in 2026. This bold effort will mobilize all 23 districts in our Zone, more than 1,100 clubs, and over 45,000 Rotarians across 11 states — walking together to raise awareness and funds to End Polio Now. I have no doubt that our district will play a leading role in bringing this vision to life.
Speaking of the District Conference — it’s quickly approaching! This year, we’re pleased to offer an in-person President Elect Training event, free for all PEs. It includes access to the morning plenary session featuring Tom Gump.I highly encourage all President Elects to attend — it’s a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your planning, get inspired, and connect with your fellow incoming club leaders.
Also starting this week: our new monthly PE Zoom calls! These will take place the Third Wednesday of each month from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, running through May. These optional calls are designed to support and connect you on your leadership journey. All listed PEs in ClubRunner should have received an invite — if you didn’t receive yours, please email me by Tuesday morning at gov.rickrg@gmail.com and I’ll send you the link.

BRING YOUR LAPTOP OR IPAD
November 4, 2025 meeting we will launch our HundredX survey evaluations of various brands. Members in attendance will need to bring charged cell phones and/or laptops. We will start by having members link into the survey and then we will do brand evaluations as a club project. Assistance will be provided to those in need of help. The evaluations are easy to do, take no more than two minutes each and will earn our charitable foundation $1.60 for each evaluation. All personal information will remain confidential and will not be disclosed to any outside source.
The survey ENDS December 2, 2025 so that you can continue the project as time permits. This is an opportunity for you to assist our fundraising efforts with no personal financial outlay and only a small-time commitment.
