Leadership in Action at Rotary - Future Leaders RYLA & 1st Women President Judy!
Dear Fellow Rotarian,
Please join us next Tuesday for lunch to meet and welcome this year's Glenbrook North RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership) students and see first hand how Rotary is helping develop the next generation of leaders.
Their energy, ideas and service-minded spirit make it a great opportunity to hear fresh perspectives and be inspired by their growth.
Max and Benny's at 12:15 pm
461 Waukegan Road in Northbrook
Please RSVP by latest Sunday evening - thank you.
Yours in Rotary
Elke :)
PS: We'll have a birthday cake for our first female Northbrook Rotary President:
Judy Warchol (1996/1997) who will join us with her daughter.
We are at ONLY 49% of Goal with just days to sell!!
191 tickets are sold-let's increase this!
Join Us for Our Spring fundraiser FRIDAY April 24th.
I hope you will attend with family and/or friends for a fun evening.
Our goal of $20,000 is consistent with past Spring events. We are only at 49% of our goal but can change this - call and reach out to family and friends!! Guest tickets are only $15.
Some of you may have sold tickets but have been unable to turn them in. Call if you need help getting tickets in at 847-732-5397. I will arrange with you to get the tickets to Alisa. In any case, we are very short of our goal, and an extra effort by all of us would be a great benefit to a worthy cause.
Denis
Remember, winners don't have to be present at our event. Try including friends and family from out of town!
10,000 STORIES...You are challenged to share 5 or more!
Our District 6440 has just under 1900 members. Each Rotarian has a "story" about why they joined, why they stay, and why Rotary resonates with them! Each Rotarian likely has MANY stories!
If each of us shared our story - 5 STORIES - our club alone could bring that 10,000 number down to 9700 stories!
Use social media like Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, BlueSky, YouTube!
Why Are You a Rotarian? Tell Your Story.
Did Rotary take you to Guatemala?
Have you traveled the world and connected with fellow Rotarians?
Have you helped bring a Peace Pole to your community?
Do you organize events, volunteer your time, or create access to meaningful service opportunities?
These are the stories people want—and need—to hear.
Someone out there is looking for exactly what you found in Rotary. Not everyone needs to do everything… but everyone is searching for one thing that resonates.
Your story could be that spark.
When we share what we do—and why we do it—we help others:
Discover Rotary
Find their place
Get involved in a way that matters to them
So let’s show the impact behind the membership.
Send us your story and we’ll share it on Facebook and LinkedIn! Help us highlight the incredible work happening across our clubs...
Multi-Club Effort Launching for our October Walk....
On Friday, April 16th Rotary reps from the Northbrook, Highland Park, Deerfield and Glenview clubs came together for planning (brainstorming) our joint effort that we're going to do for the upcoming October 24th World's Largest Polio Walk.
Ben (HP), Liz (Deerfield), Rick (G2), Jody, John and Kathi (Nbk) were at this meeting and came up with ideas like walking from Ravinia to RI headquarters (RR idea!!!); signs and QR codes along the route, with Interactors interviewing and Facebook Live reporting along the way!! John mentioned making sure of the historical point of view too!
At Saturdays’ District training I think we got some buy in from Lake Forest, Buffalo Grove and River Cities to join in!! We are excited and will keep the clubs updated and be planning pre-October events to get folks involved! This is a Zone 25B & 29 event – across the USA & Canada!! SAVE THE DATE OF OCTOBER 24, 2026.
Please mark your calendars for an important event on Thursday evening May 28 (6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.) for Rotarians.
The Rotary Clubs of Glenview Sunrise, Northbrook, and Glenview Noon will be hosting a program for 10 Rotary Clubs at the Glenview Public Library with Cook County Commissioner Scott Britton.
The program is called “State of Cook County – with a Rotary Twist”. Commissioner Britton will be sharing updates on programs/activities/budget for our area of Cook County – and different programs that Rotary might want to help with in our various communities. He recently held a similar program with Chambers of Commerce (excluding the Rotary connection, of course) and it was a fascinating event!
Because we are co-hosting the event , it is vitally important that we have a big turnout that evening. We would like to see 90% attendance from our clubs, which means that if you are in town and don’t have an existing conflict, you are asked to sign up.
Q: What other Rotary Clubs are invited?
A: Aside from the three host clubs, Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Palatine, River Cities, Wheeling, Wilmette and Winnetka/Northfield clubs are invited. All are within Commissioner Britton’s 14th District
Q: Can non-Rotary guests attend?
A: Yes, they can, but each person should register separately, and identify the club they are affiliated with
Q: How do I sign up?
A: There are two ways to sign up. You can register at THIS LINKor at the QR Code in the attached flyer.
