Leaders and Followers
The most common misconception is that being a "good follower" is tantamount to passive obedience.  In fact, a good follower must be engaged in an active collaboration with the leader, and that requires critical thinking.  Followers must be candid with superiors, especially in offering constructive criticism that might aid the larger cause.  In absence thought, group think inevitably takes hold.

But the hallmark of the effective follower is precisely this:  an ability to check your ego at the door, to remain positive and self-motivated even if you're not setting the agenda.  This person succeeds even without the presence of a leader precisely because she embodies the ideals of leadership.

Council on Legislation
Every three years, members from Rotary districts across the globe gather in Chicago to review and vote on proposed legislation.  The Council on Legislation is an essential part of Rotary's governance.  The Council will start with a training and opening session on Saturday, April 10th.

The Council has the responsibility of considering and acting upon all enactments, which are proposed changes in the Bylaws and Constitution, and resolutions which are recommended changes in Rotary policies and procedures.  Proposals may be submitted by any Rotary club, district or the R.I. Board.  The Council's actions are subject to review by all the Rotary clubs of the world before they become final. If 10% of the voting strength of the clubs opposes a council action, such legislation is nullified and it is submitted for final consideration to the next convention.

The Council on Legislation provides the membership of Rotary a democratic process for legislative change in the operations of Rotary International.

What do you get when you cross poison ivy with a 4-leaf clover?
A rash of good luck

A Shamrock Shake

Why don't you iron a 4-leaf clover?
Because you don't want to press your luck

They are hard to find and lucky to have
