Northbrook Rotary Awards Vocational Scholarships

The Northbrook Rotary Club awarded five $1,500 Vocational Scholarships on May 4, 2010. The scholarships are to help provide post-secondary educational opportunities for men and women at Glenbrook North High School and at Glenbrook Evening School who are preparing for careers that require less than a baccalaureate degree.

This year's recipients were: Yesenia Cruz (Pharmaceutical Assistant) Max Kahis (Paramedic) Eddie Kerrigan (Plumbing) Lauren Lohan (Massage Therapy) Maria Papdimitriou (Child Care) The Northbrook Rotary Club also honored two students with $1,500 each for the Robert S. Friedman Inspiration Award. This award offers encouragement to seniors at Glenbrook North High School who are overcoming unique personal challenges while pursuing their educational and career goals, and to inspire hope as students aspire to a job they love.
