On December 15th, the Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer and Hawthorn Woods awarded founding Club member, Bill Ferreira, and his wife Pam, a special award for their exceptional fundraising efforts towards Rotary International’s “End Polio Now” program.

Seven years ago, Pam and Bill Ferreira, came up with the idea to develop an International Cookbook.  The project began in 2010 with a District 6440 cook book, followed by the current cook book in 2013. They solicited recipes from Rotary Clubs around the world.  Over 5,000 recipes were submitted for consideration.  The resulting cookbook, “Rotarian Flavors of the World”, features over 400 recipes from Rotary districts in over 150 countries.

To date, Mr. Ferreira has sold approximately 7,500 cook books, and raised nearly $40,000 for Rotary’s “End Polio Now” program.  The project continues to be a worldwide fundraising project for polio eradication. For every cookbook sold at $15.00 (includes Shipping + handling in the US only), $5.00 goes to polio eradication. You may still order the cookbook by calling: 847-302-6310 or via email: rotarianflavorsworldcookbook@gmail.com
