This year our Club tried something new to get the word out about our Club.  We sponsored a local concert as part of the Hawthorn Woods Concert in the Park series.  The event was last Friday evening from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.  The weather was great.  The band was "Second Time Around", who played classic rock.  Thanks to Lyle Staab for setting up a tent, display table, and our Rotary feather flags to help advertise our Club.  Lyle brought his family and a number of friends with him to enjoy a large table full of goodies.  Thanks for Jon Jansky (and Jen) for introducing the band and providing the crowd a little background on our Club.  Thanks to Jim and Marilyn Dopler for manning the table during the concert.  Thanks to Sara Knight, her family and friends for coming out for the evening.  Thanks also to Amy Scholz, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation, for coordinating our sponsorship of the event with us.  The Mayor (Joe Mancino) and Chief Operating Officer (Pam Newton) were kind enough to drop by and say hello, and to thank us for getting more involved in the Village over the past year.  We all agreed to look for additional ways we could work together moving forward.  We also got to sit and watch a number of children checking out our recently installed Little Free Library.
