Club Business: Janice Kellman called the meeting to order.

Alan Nerad reported that Walker Brothers is no longer interested in the club selling apple pancakes. The sentiment may change at some time in the future, but for now there will be no pancake sale fundraiser.

Nancy Bruzzini noted today is Veteran's Day and provided a brief history of Armistice Day and Veteran's Day.

Alan Nerad noted the Rotary Youth Club is no longer planning to host the Dodge Ball event. A discussion of activities the Rotary Youth Club is contemplating for the future followed.

A discussion of the Thanksgiving family project followed. Janice noted the family consists of three members. A discussion of supporting the purchase of a gift card for $150 from Jewell for the family followed. It was the consensus of the club to purchase the gift card from Jewell. Janice noted today was the last day to bring food item donation and explained she would prepare a gift basket for the family.

A Discussion Operation Warm followed. Barb Tolbert noted she connected with Rich Lalley and shared with him the club's interest in supporting the project. Rich indicated there are parameters for the amount of works to be done. Barb explained if the club is going to do coats, we must support 3 boxes at a total cost of $720. Kids coats cost $20/each and adult coats are $22/per item. The club can work with Operation Warmth to determine which population is to be served.

Janice Kellman shared information about the women who offers a food pantry out of her garage in Vernon Hills as one of the recommended sources to receive coats. Janice Kellman noted the club has previously indicated a desire to get involved in this type of project.  The question remains about engaging Rotary Youth Club in the fundraising project.

A discussion of where to put efforts toward the coat distribution project followed. Barb Tolbert noted she would take the lead on gathering information from local organization to determine need and opportunities for the club to make the distribution a work event.

Alan Nerad suggested the club supporting up to $1,500 dollars in contribution toward Operation Warmth - some combination of shoes and coats.

Alan noted any activities on behalf of the Rotary Youth Club would be over and above the support provided by our club.

Barb Tolbert express her opinion she like this type of local initiative. Nancy Bruzzini suggested seeking an opportunity for bringing in members of the RYC as an opportunity for mentorship.

Janice Kellman noted she would be online for next week's meeting; however, she would have to step off the call at 8:30 a.m. Janice asked that someone take the lead on bringing a computer in next week.

A brief discussion of the brochure followed.  Janice Kellman noted she brought paper to give the group a chance to brainstorm on marketing. Janice Kellman made a recommendation not to pursue tri-fold brochures, but a simple half sheet tow-sided take away. She suggested the marketing has less words and more graphics to convey the message.

A brief brainstorming session followed.  Dale McClain suggested key word - "Give Back" be included in the promotional piece.

Speaker: No speaker.

Adjourn: The meeting adjourned just after 9:00 a.m.
