The Rotary Club of Pimentel Duarte announced the inauguration of a Second computer lab at the Escuela Teolinda Chupani in Sabana Grande. The event was attended by students, teachers, members of the community, government and local authorities, and Rotarians. This project added 10 computers to the center, a 8Kg UPS with 6 batteries, four ceiling fans, security to the doors, locks, a multifunction printer, DataShow and a selfstanding screen

A State of the Art Computer Lab was inaugurated at the Escuela Primaria Agustín Fernández Pérez in Pimentel, Dominican Republic. The lab has 12 Computers, a printer, a DataShow, Screen with tripod, a 3.6Kg UPS and 8 batteries, four ceiling fans, security doors and windows, computer tables, and appropriate lighting. This project was made possible through a $22,000 Rotary International Matching Grant put together by the Lincolnshire Morning Star Rotary Club with contributions from the Rotary Clubs of Deerfield, Long Grove and Wheeling in Illinois and the Westerwald Rotary Club in Germany.

July 2011 - Contributions are being sought to fund the establishment of two computer labs in the Dominican Republic. The project needs between US$5,000 and US$6,000 seed money to be able to apply for a Matching Grant of up to US$25,000.
The computer labs are planned to be installed at the Escuela Agustin Fernandez Perez in the city of Pimentel and the Escuela Teolinda Chupani in the village of Sabana Grande; both schools are located in the province of Duarte.
Escuela Agustín Fernández Pérez serves over 1000 K-8 students, with 54 teachers and a staff of 25 employees in a community of over 5,000 members.
Escuela Teolinda Chupani is located in the rural area serving around 400 K-12 students, their teachers, staff and community members.
The project will be managed locally by members of the Club Rotario Pimentel in District 4060; a Rotary Club with whom the Lincolnshire Morning Star Rotary Club in Illinois partnered in 2010 to equip and organize a school library in Sabana Grande.
