Carol August gave the Pledge and prayer, and we all broke out in a rendition of “When Irish Eyes are Smiling”.

 

-Bill Rickert is back from 2 ½ months in Florida. He will return for the summer in May.

 

-Steve Risley is proud that Davidson is in the NCAA Tourney.

 

-Larry Neal’s daughter eloped and saved him considerable cash! Baseball is back! Mother’s Trust had a successful pop-up prom dress shop. Some Interact students helped.

 

-Tom Zengler said they collected over 5000 prom dresses.

 

-Tucker Olson is running for a Lake County board seat.

 

Why is Share called Share? The Rotary Foundation’s funding system is called Share because: Rotarians Share their resources, Rotary Foundation Trustees Share some of their decision-making responsibilities, Rotarians Share Rotary with the World.

 

   Contributions to the Disaster Relief Fund in support of Ukraine can be made online at Disaster Response Fund | My Rotary.

 

-March 30 is the fifth Wednesday and there will be no morning meeting. We will have an evening social event from 5:30 to 8:30 at the Harbor Kitchen and Tap in Libertyville. Let

-There will be an electronics recycling event on Saturday 4/30 in the Sunset parking lot. Electronics and volunteers needed.

 

-There will be a Feed my Starving Children packing event in November. Details to follow.

 

-Eliot Pinsel has been nominated to be our next President. There will be an election in April for officers and directors.

 

-Pat Hart has revised the Club bylaws and the Board approved the new version.

 

-The Board approved $5,500 for vocational scholarships. 

 

-Bill Taranowski asked for 3 scholarships for LHS totaling $4,500 plus funds to send one student to RYLA. The board approved the request.

 

-The Board also approved $2,000 for tool bags for IBEW apprentices.

 

-Finally, the Board approved $1,800 of DDF funds for Ukraine relief.

 

-Robin O’Connor presented a Paul Harris Fellow award to Tom and Barb Plohr. They provide furniture to the needy. They get referrals from Pads.

 

Our visiting Interact students entertained us with a quiz on Kahoot.

 

Our program today was visiting students from the LHS Interact Club. Interact is a service club sponsored by Rotary that conducts volunteer activities and develops leadership skills. Their volunteer projects include letters to nursing home patients, a clean up of Butler Lake, a food drive, letters to front line workers and work with Catholic Charities to provide presents to needy families.

 

Additional activities include electronic recycling, a diaper drive, Feed my Starving Children events, work with Bernie’s Book Bank, and the Prom shop. Fund raising, candy grams and painting rocks at Condell hospital.

 

The club meets once a week when they are involved in projects. They recruit from various events and eighth grade orientation. They also conduct a freshman sign up event.

 

Daily: $27 won by Tucker Olson who donated the proceeds to the Interact Club.

Progressive: $240. Jeff Harger drew the 9 of diamonds. Rollover!
