BULLETIN – October 9, 2024

President Robb opened the meeting, Kim Smith gave the pledge, Happy Datt led us in prayer. No song!

BRAGS:
-Jim Laverdiere asked us to pray for his home in Florida.
-Ellen Young just returned from 3 weeks in England.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
-Doug Fendon told us our new shirts are in.
-Highway cleanup is Saturday. Meet at Sunset Foods at 7 am.
-Pumpkinfest is October 19th at Cook Park at 9am. Volunteers needed. Sign up at the sign in table.
-There is a fifth Wednesday this month. Plans will be announced soon.
-Scott Hezner is looking for volunteers to work at vote collection stations on Election Day.

FUN & FROLICS:
Diana Servos asked us to name good things about the Bears’ new quarterback Caleb Williams.

PROGRAM:
There was no formal program this week. We were visited by: Jennifer Uliks, Ava Palmieri, and Chris Hendricks from LHS. We presented them with the checks from the Fundraiser. We support Topcats which mentors kids in North Chicago, Best Buddies which puts on a carnival for kids with disabilities, and the LHS Interact Club. Interact does an Alzheimer Walk, donates to PADS, and conducts a bake sale to fund care packages for needy kids.

All LHS clubs are self-sufficient and rely on donations like ours to do their good work.

RAFFLE:
-Daily: $18 won by Doug Fendon who donated his winnings to the Food Pantry.
-Progressive: $72 (52 cards). Tucker Olson drew the Jack of Spades. Close but no cigar!

FOOD PANTRY:
-We collected $255 for the Food Pantry.

NEXT WEEK:
-Greeter & Prayer: Bill Rickert.
-Fun & Frolics: Bill Taranowski.
-Program: Rich Schoeneman will tell us about a Global Grant for Shining Smiles.

WHEEL:
We had 3 wheel offenses today. Busy day!
-Scott Hezner forgot to sign in and the wheel said he could pay $ 10 for someone else to spin. He chose Ron Lapins.
-Pete Govorchin forgot to sign in. He gave an IOU and sang God Bless America.
-Doug Fendon took Pete’s badge last week so he paid a fine.
