BULLETIN – July 30, 2025

President Tom Gore rang the bell, Scott Hezner gave the Pledge, Bill Taranowski led us in prayer, and Dennis Kratohwil, in the shortest intro ever, had us sing “Hot Town, Summer in the City” in honor of the weather.

BRAGS:
Tom Gore was wheeled for starting the meeting last week with announcements. Out of order.
-Happie Datt hosted an Exchange student in 2019. She stayed in touch, and the student still calls her for advice.
-Bill Taranowski went on a trip with his daughter Claire to Sweden and Norway. They went on an adventure hike to see the troll tongue at Bonego (sp?).
-Tom Miller had 3 brags. While playing in a recent golf outing, he had an eagle on a par 4 (a 2). He played in the Merit Club member guest with Larry Neal, and they finished first in their bracket and won a dagger (along with some cash I presume!). Tom and his wife also bought a lot in Wisconsin.
-Robin O’Connor’s son Ryan moved to Philadelphia and is Director of music programs for the entire school system. Her daughter Rosie was a high school choral teacher in Colorado, and her program was eliminated. She went to Northern Colorado University and has been offered a job there. Her high School offered her old job back, but she told them to kiss off.
-Doug Fendon’s grandchildren are coming today. Hope we see him next week! He also played in the Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing and hit a ball in the bucket and won $100. Doug has also been diagnosed with Afib. He claims to be normal now. Is that possible?

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
-The Libertyville Festival of Arts is this month, and we need volunteers.
-The August board meeting will be the third Tuesday of the month . All are welcome.
-Jim Lavendiere told us we will have the Lake County Sheriff speak at an upcoming meeting. Give your questions to Jim.

Fun & Frolics:
Bill Rickert expressed his disdain for quizzes and treated us to an axe throwing contest.

PROGRAM:
Ther was no speaker today.

RAFFLE:
-Daily: $18 won by Tucker Olson.
-Progressive: $77 (52 cards). Bill Taranowski drew the 2 of diamonds. ROLLOVER!
