-Rich Shoes: Silent auction update- 28 items collected so far. The goal is 110. Rich S. is beginning to accept bottles of wine for the Wine Cellar and bourbon for the Bourbon Basket.
-Jon Robb: $5000 was taken from our Club reserves to donate to the California wildfire relief.
-Jeff Harger: Shelterbox accepts money on their website for anyone looking for a way to donate to the CA wildfire victims.

Hapi Datt gave us a Trivia quiz. Our choices of category were: Government, Sciences, Sports, and Art. Winners and correct answers were hard to come by in this contest.
PROGRAM:
Today's program featured Damaris Lorta, Chief Development Officer, and her associate, Kim Mudd, presenting for A Safe Place. A Safe Place has been providing services geared towards supporting survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking for 46 years in Northern Illinois. Domestic violence is the leading cause of injuries to women. 1/3 of women and 1/7 of men will be victims of an abusive relationship in their lifetimes. 10 million children in the United States witness domestic violence annually. Lake County has the 2nd highest homicide/suicide rates in the State, right after Chicago and Cook County. This past year in 2024 A Safe Place served over 30,000 people in Lake County. They have 180 housing units currently in service that help clients transition out of the program, so they have somewhere to live and don't have to go back to their abuser. Is Safe Place is in the process now of raising money for a new building that will be able to house 120 people at a time. Any donations and/or volunteering of time would be greatly appreciated.
