Diana Taylor opened the meeting with a pledge and a prayer.

 

BRAGS:

 

Dave Ritland bragged that Northwestern won, even though he chose to attend a different bowl game this year.

 

 

Bob Zamor wickedly allowed his phone to ring during the meeting and of course was marched up to the wheel.  He chose not to whistle a song, which would no doubt have been greatly appreciated, since our song-meister was in Florida and failed to bring us music earlier in the meeting. Instead Bob paid a fine.   

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

Our winter fundraiser committee will be meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 3 at Diana Taylor’s office.

 

Our board will be meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8 at Chili U.

 

John McDonald reminded members that he can always use help in finding speakers for our meetings.

 

Steve Risley requested that people bring auction items sooner rather than later for our winter fundraiser which is now less than two months away.

 

 

We began the year with a scaled down meeting.  Only fourteen members attended, and we had no song, no fun and frolics and no program.  Now wanting to dismiss us too early though and force us to face the height of the rush hour traffic, our president suggested that everyone mention something that they were excited about in 2019 and we had some interesting entries.

 

Diana Taylor is participating in a business expo in 2019 that will take place at McCormick Place to bring a new avenue of marketing to her business.

 

Richard Mittelman is very excited about receiving his first social security payment this month.  He has not figured out yet if it will be a check or a direct deposit.

 

John McDonald is hoping to improve his time on his daily run and work himself down to a ten minute mile.

 

Dave Ritland is starting a new business this year, and he is excited about the challenge of getting it off the ground.

 

Bill Rickert is looking forward to completing a project he has been working on for several years to bring Lake Michigan water to Wauconda. 

 

And of course Steve Risley can hardly wait for the day, when he watches the Bears win the Super Bowl.

 

 

 

John McDonald’s ticket came up first on the raffle this week, and he went for the whopping big progressive pot of $227.00.  After he lost, Greg Hill won the weekly prize of $15.00.
