Call to Order:  Club President Greg Hill called the meeting to order, Tucker Olson led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Brad Gutzler gave the prayer.  Pat Hart led us in the “Chain Gang” song. 

 

Guests:  Alan Phelps, guest speaker from Engineers Without Borders.

 

Announcents:   John McDonald announced there is an Alzheimer’s Walk after the upcoming highway cleanup.

 

-  Seb Karasu thanked Diana Taylor and Pat Schwartz for coverage at the rotary meeting when she was away.  She also thanked Tucker Olson and Steve Risley for helping her reach her $500 funding goal to St. Jude’s Hospital.

 

-  Jeff Harger had a great time traveling to Vienna, Prague, and Budapest.    

 

Fun and Frolics:  John McDonough did a Linkee Party Game.

 

Program:  Alan Phelps, representing Engineers Without Borders, talked about his experience in the Village of Bukembe, western Kenya providing water treatment and distribution to the Goodness Orphanage/Highway Academy & Children's Center.  The team has been working with the village since 2016 and has worked on their bathroom project for some time with constant repairs due to local conditions.  The goal is to construct boys, girls, teachers bathrooms with hand washing stations.  They also are working to upgrade water sanitation, and electricity via solar power.  Altogether, they need about $40,000 to complete the needed upgrades.
