President Diana Taylor presided at our meeting today and opened with a pledge and a prayer but no song.  Where has Dennis Kratohwil gone when we need him so much?

 

 

BRAGS:

 

Tony Collins bragged about his son’s robotics team (AGAIN).  This time they are headed toward competing for the state championship;

 

Steve Risley bragged that after paying a king’s ransom in tuition to Butler University and Marquette University he will be attending a basketball game where they will be playing each other.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

Our president urges everyone to return a completed club survey, so we can have meaningful information to work with.

 

David Potts reminded us about a fundraiser coming up for Dan Lutter on February 23 from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the American Legion in Libertyville

 

Teri Dreher is looking for leads in finding employment for her daughter with an English degree.

 

 

In honor of President’s Day Jon Robb made us name the last twenty presidents in reverse order going from table to table.  The club as a whole succeeded in naming all twenty, but a couple of tables missed on their turns.

 

 

 

Today instead of having a speaker we went over details of the club’s fund-raisers. 

 

The biggest item on the agenda was Greg Hill’s request for ideas on reformatting the summer fund-raiser. The committee has decided to hold the VIP wine tasting party inside the Civic Center, which will save tent rental expense and cause less resentment of being left out by the normal attendees.  With one less tent we will have a lot of free space and Greg is looking for ideas on how to utilize that freed space to generate additional revenue.

Our winter fundraiser is coming up on March 1.

 

As of now we have less than one hundred attendees for the event, although we have about twenty-five members who have purchased tickets who are not planning to attend.  Attendance is essential and Greg will be attempting to distribute these extra tickets to people who will use them.  If you have potential guests who have an issue with the dinner cost and you have sold at least four tickets you could contact Greg about using some of his store of extras. 

 

 

 

Jon Robb won the weekly raffle of $31.00, but on a much more exciting note David Potts pulled the Ace of Spades from the deck to win the progressive pot of $372.00
