Prez Greg Hill opened the meeting, Rick Mittelman gave the pledge, Greg Hill, doing double duty as greeter, led us in prayer, and unofficial songmeister Dennis Kratohwil helped us through “Always look on the bright side of life”.

 

-Tucker Olson bragged that wife Cheryl has put up with him for 41 years!

 

-Steve Risley just returned from a college reunion with 3 friends in Ashville.

 

-Greg Hill bragged that Doug Fendon has discovered a new revenue source for the fundraiser, $1000 from Dunkin Donuts.

 

-Next Wednesday is the last fundraiser meeting covering details. 5:30 pm at Pet Factory.

 

-Last week’s meeting with the District Governor was well attended but overall attendance is down. We should be at 75% weekly but we are averaging 50 – 55%. We pay for a minimum number of meals each week.

 

-Cubs Brewers game is 9/7. Greg Hill has tickets.

 

-Tom Miller reported that ticket sales are slightly ahead of last year. Many wait until the day of the event to buy a ticket. Pray for good weather. Next Wednesday is the last day to turn in tickets. Email all your contacts with the fundraiser info.

 

-Dave Potts entered all the wines in the wine list.

 

-Rich Babjak has sold his house and is giving away much of his furniture. See Rich.

Today’s program was Charitable Giving Chair Steve Risley with a survey of the organizations we support. There was a lively discussion about how many groups we will support in the future. Everyone was given 15 points that they could assigned to one or more organizations.  Most felt that we should support groups that members had an interest in. The second step will be a review of the survey by the giving committee. The last step is to present the final list to the Board in the Spring when the result of our fundraisers is known. The Charitable Giving Committee is made up of 4 members plus the current Club President.

-Progressive: $165 (47 cards). Larry Neal drew the 4 of clubs. Rollover!
