President Schoeneman opened the meeting, yours truly gave the pledge and Greeter Scott Hezner led us in prayer.

 

FOUNDATION MINUTE:

What is the goal of Rotary Foundation Grants? During the past 100 years, the Foundation has spent over $3 billion on life changing, sustainable projects. Program of Scale Grants fund activities that benefit a large number of people in a significant geographic area. Each year, one approved project will receive $2 million from the Rotary Foundation’s World Fund. Disaster Response Grants fund small-scale short-term activities that address needs caused by natural disasters in your community. Districts in an affected area or country may apply for a maximum grant of $25,000, based on the availability of funds.

 

Steve Risley reminded us that if we donated to the Foundation online this year, please tell Steve to receive the Club match.

 

-Elliott delivered 450 presents from the ornaments he passed out last month.

 

-Bill Rickert is retiring from RHMG on 12/31 and plans to spend the winter in Florida.

 

-President Rich presented a check to Elaine and the staff at Lamb’s Farm for their work this year.

 

-There is an upcoming service project at the Northern Illinois Food Bank on 1/19 at 5:30 pm. Greg Hill needs 10 more volunteers.

 

-No meeting next week.

 

-The Winter Fundraiser will be held on 2/26. Three restaurants will be participating. Nirvana, Main Street Social and Mickey Finn’s. We need auction items.

 

Pat Hart entertained us with Christmas music trivia. Pat was careful to include major religions in his questions.

 

Today’s program was the Libertyville High School Wind Ensemble’s Jazz Quartet. Bill Taranowski arranged the concert which was sponsored by Tom Zengeler. The group played several holiday favorites.
